Egg Is Good For Your Health?

I love eggs, but I always feel guilty after eating one, as I have always been told that eggs are bad 'cholesterol carrier' and it's especially bad for people like me, who has a history of heart disease.

To justify my love for eggs, I've done a little search on the net, and found some good reasons why I shouldn't feel sinful with my love for eggs...

1. Eggs are great for the eyes; even lower the risk of developing cateracts.

2. Each egg has 6gm of high-quality protein and 9 essential amino acids.

3. Egg may help prevent blood clots, stroke and heart attacts.

4. Egg is an important source of nutrient that helps regulate the brain, nervous system and cardiovascular system (and this is totally contrary to what I know about eggs!).

5. It's low in saturated fat.

6. Improves a person's lipid profile.

7. Good source of Vitamin D.

8. Helps to prevent breast cancer.

9. Promotes healthy hair and nails!

Foodie

Food may not be the most passionate thing in me, but I can't help being attracted by this celebrity chef's character in his reality show, Hell's Kitchen. A cocky fella yet many love to hate him :)

I stumbled upon this video of Gordon Ramsay in Malaysia. It's especially interesting as part of the clips were shot during last year's Wesak celebration in Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple, where I was there too but was shooed away when I walked near the crews with a camera hanging on my neck!

Real Biz?

Most of us get a little skeptical when approached by someone with a Direct Selling story; what more complete with pictures and slides of some lucky dudes beaming with pride beside a BMW or Ferrari, or in front of a giant gates that I can't possible afford (not to mention the house behind it!).

I can't help but wonder if these are real? I've seen some with only 1 or 2 products, usually wellness related, which they don't even bother to talk about in details. Never mind how it works, those are just techie stuff which we business people not interested in; we business people just know how to make $$, big cars and big houses, and we guarantee!

Perhaps these are the "pioneers" that give direct selling a bad name?

--------------------

Maybe a company with real products - in-house developed by team of award-winning scientists, endorsed by many award-winning sports persons around the world, approved for sale in over 70+ countries, complete with an amazing track record in the NYSE - is not just another run-of-the-mill "John Doe"?

Gadgets

This is a new gadget to me - Body Composition Monitor. It works by using BIA (Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis) which is an electrical signal through the body. As the current encounters different kinds of fluids and tissues, it will determine how much of it is fat (fat is harder to get through) and how much is muscle (the current will pass easily through muscle, which is made up of mostly water).

This high-tech monitor comes in the form of a bathroom weighing scale that monitors everything from weight and body fat to body water and visceral fat %.

Body composition is simply the ratio of lean body mass to fat body mass. Too much fat can lean to health problems like heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol and other serious conditions. If you keep your body fat within a reasonable level, you'll be healthier and, of course, slimmer.

Body Fat Categories for Women
  • 10-12% - Essential Fat
  • 14-20% - Athletic Fat Levels
  • 21-24% - Fitess Fat Levels
  • 25-31% - Acceptable Fat Levels
  • >32% - Obese

Body Fat Categories for Men
  • 2-4% - Essential Fat
  • 6-13% - Athletic Fat Levels
  • 14-17% - Fitess Fat Levels
  • 18-25% - Acceptable Fat Levels
  • >26% - Obese

BIA (Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis) is a simple method of assessing body fat percentage. It is a body composition and body fat analyzer and scale that provides more than just total weight measurements. It determines total weight, the percent and amount of body fat, muscle mass, water and even bone mass.

Sounds cool, eh?

What's that?

I had doubts too initially, wondered if it really works, or, if it's even safe?!

Herbalife's product range include protein shakes and snacks, vitamins & dietary suppliments, energy and fitness drinks, etc that helps to lead a healthy & active lifestyle. Their products have been in the market since 1980, and were approved and on sale in 74 countries, including USA (where it came from) & Europe where I believe must have those most stringent safety measures on food control.

For a company first went puplic on NASDAQ in 1984, then on NYSE (US$79+) since 2004, I guess the food it sells is pretty safe too?

Guess it's good enough if these mega sports stars think it's safe?

Introduction

Working life is taxing to both the body and mind; I spend 10 - 12 hours away from home each workday, and the stress is not helping at all... my time at home, after work, is spent mostly 'resting', trying to recover the energy and zest that I've lost, but I don't feel any better... worst, I think it's effecting my health :(

This is when I'm introduced to Herbalife -

This is the kind of ENERGY I'm talking about!
